Nicolas Brown, owner of Compass Computer Systems, secured the domain webstriker.com on May 31, 1998. At just 15 years old, Nick had invested his hard-earned $100 to register the domain name with InterNIC for two years. During the next year he did web design work for Wolfie’s C.A.R.S., Sports World USA, Chiropractees, David’s Church, Winfield Baptist Church, and Northumberland Christian School among many others.

In March of 1999 Nick was hired as a freelance contractor to do web site work for Breco Communications in Millersburg, PA. At Breco he designed a web site for The Gourmet Marketplace. Three months after his hire, Breco Communications was bought out by Kocher Enterprises, which is comprised of three companies: Susquehanna Design & Printing, The Upper Dauphin Sentinel, and The Carpenter’s Shop. Kocher Enterprises employed Nick under Susquehanna Design & Printing to continue the work that was inherited from its most recent purchase of Breco.

At Susquehanna Design & Printing Nick was surrounded and mentored by professional designers who helped him sharpen his aesthetic senses as well as computer proficiency skills. There he gained valuable experience using professional graphics applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and QuarkXPress to name a few. Venturing a bit into print media design for brochures and flyers, while fine-tuning skills in web development, he attained a commendable skill set.

Some of the web site work done at Susquehanna Design & Printing included work for Kocher Enterprises own Sentinelnow.com site as well as sites for Pennsylvania Family Institute, New York Family Policy Council, The REACH Alliance, West Shore Oil Company, Harrisburg Oil Heating Association, Izett Golf, StaffMasters USA, Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, Twin Pines Camp and Conference Center and many more.

Continuing to excel in web site creation, Nick continued to develop his on-the-side business by doing work for Biblically Balanced Ministries, Baker Photography, Teen Tech Magazine, and Massachusetts Family Institute. He continues to take on new clients, customizing web solutions for each client and producing a product that fulfills and exceeds each one’s unique needs and expectations.
